When we talk about the material of butt welding steel pipe fittings,  we talk the material steel grade , for example,  ASTM A234 WPB or A403 WP316L.

It is the material information of this fitting , not the raw material steel grade for fittings production .  A butt welding steel elbow, 6″ SCH40, the material is ASTM A234 WPB,  as we know, it is produced from a steel pipes. The raw material is a steel pipe, the steel grade may be ASTM A106 Gr.B , or A53 GR.B ,  not the pipe of A234 WPB .
